WHEN A WRITER GOES SHOPPING :: COULD ALSO BE SAID FOR A POET
Leg Three | 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM | 28. The Naming Gallery

FB Icon

Event Description

Who said pure magic only happens in New Orleans?  Oakland brings the flav ~ Come with and empty mind, and finish with enthusiastic, stomping feet.  Let flutters of revelation pour down, from your head to your toes.  The ultimate "shopping experience;" where the writers do all the shopping...while talking.  An event to "Aid the poet."

Curator: Lisa Aurora Calderón

Picture
Lisa Aurora is Oakland Native with an East Coast upbringing, of bi-lingual and bi-cultural background, she is most at home in pockets of urban undeveloped, transitory, work-live, and temporal repositories.  Lisa enjoys collective spaces and co-founded Up Stream Art Lit in 2008.  In 2013, she found a home for Naming Gallery with co-founder and friend, Josef Lucas.  Ms. Calderon has helped develop and support small business to form a group of galleries and retail spaces on 15th Street.  She has enjoyed collaborating with artists and looks forward to developing and creating more experiences for her community.  With a background in Environmental Chemistry from Mills College,  Ms. Calderon has worked closely on environmental challenges as they relate to cultural and urban evolution and design.  She has a wide range of technical skills and is an acute and brilliant net-worker.
