Event Description

Bay Area Generations presents a paired reading series at Beast Crawl 2016, featuring a renown bay area poets and authors and musical guest. This exciting literary series brings the generations together both onstage and in the audience for an incomparable set of poetry, prose, and musical performance.

HUGH BEHM-STEINBERG + ALYSSA MONTANTES

Hugh Behm-Steinberg authored Shy Green Fields, The Opposite of Work, and Dusie chapbooks, Sorcery, Good Morning! and The Sound of Music. He's faculty with California College of the Arts in San Francisco, and edits the journal Eleven Eleven.

Alyssa Montantes is from Northern California’s central valley. Writing since the age of nine, she still has her first written poem. Published in Humble Pie Literary Journal and graduate of California College of the Arts.

JENNIFER LEWIS + JULIANA DELGADO LOPERA

Jennifer Lewis, MFA is editor of Red Light Lit. She is published in Midnight Breakfast, Transfer Magazine, Fourteen Hills Press, Sparkle & Blink. Recipient: Leo Litwak Award for creative non-fiction (2012) and fiction (2015).

Juliana Delgado Lopera is an award-winning Colombian writer/educator/oral-historian and executive director of RADAR Productions. Widely published and awarded, her ¡Cuéntamelo! presents oral histories of LGBT Latino immigrants

CLIVE MATSON + ANDREW O. DUGAS

Clive Matson, MFA, awarded author and Beat Generation Poet, his first poems, Mainline to the Heart, were published by Diane di Prima. Presenter of Let the Crazy Child Write!, Matson lives in Oakland, where he helps parent his teen-age son, Ezra.

Andrew O. Dugas's work has appeared in many journals and review. His novel Sleepwalking in Paradise (Numina Press, 2014). There is a fair to middlin' chance he's mailed you a haiku on a postcard.

Kira Lynne Allen is Founder, Facilitator and Author of WRITE THIS SECOND and a poet/artist who writes to break the silent, secret, spell that keeps far too many of us buried above ground.

Vivian Rebeka Allen is an Oakland native, songstress and leader who mixes a socially conscious, healing spirit with neo soul, R&B, electronic and world music. She is extremely grateful to share the stage with her mom.
