Oakland native James Tracy is a co-editor of Avanti Popolo: Italian Americans Sail Beyond Columbus + 3 other Manic D titles. He's also author of several books on hidden histories and rebel cities. Tracy teaches Labor and Community Studies at San Francisco City College.

Thea Hillman

East Bay native Thea Hillman is the author of stories, poems, and essays, and two books published by Manic D: Depending on the Light and the Lambda Award-winning Intersex (For Lack of a Better Word). ​

Alvin Orloff

Daphne Gottlieb

East Bay native Alvin Orloff is the author of three novels, I Married an Earthling, Gutter Boys, and Why Aren’t You Smiling? He lives in San Francisco and wants to be your friend.

Daphne Gottlieb is the author of 10 books, including 15 Ways to Stay Alive (poems). She is at work on her first novel, about middle age, anonymous sex, and the failure of language. It’s tentatively entitled, “My Suicide Note Was in Your Handwriting and Your Handwriting Was 12-Point Helvetica.”

Daniel Levesque

Jon Longhi

Daniel LeVesque is a recovering hairburner who does not participate in the cult of beauty. He has been published in a number of anthologies and magazines. Hairdresser on Fire is his first novel. He lives in Oakland.
