Beast Crawl 2017 presents Naked Bulb Press - Sixth Sense.   The Bulb is honored to be a part of the Crawl’s sixth year! and it’s seventh year as an East Bay, monthly open-mic in Fruitvale.  Naked Bulb is an open performance space for veterans and newbies, especially for those who have not been heard.  What started as an open-mic has now expanded to a local press.


Curator: Missy Church

Missy Church is the founder of Naked Bulb Press and the author of, CHURCH - a Retrospective, by Paper Press.  Her upcoming poetry collection, CATECHISM, will be released this fall.  Missy also curates a small museum - Animal Hospital.

Iwalani Venerable aka LaniGrooves is a Bay area native residing in Oakland. She is a musician, performing artist, film maker and educator she loves inspiring others with the power of music LaniGrooves produces composes and writes her own original music.

Andrew J. Thomas is a father, a husband, and a poet. He lives in Vacaville, CA with a dog, a cat, a wife, and until recently, two teenage sons. He has no classic training in the art of the written word, other than years of heart break and a love of whiskey. He is a founding member and alumnus of the Beast Crawl Literary Festival and enjoys participating and supporting literary events in the Bay Area. His first book of poetry, Strangeland, was recently published by none other than Naked Bulb Press. He hopes his poems make you cry because then maybe he can too.

William Taylor Jr.

William Taylor Jr. lives and writes in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco. His work has been published widely in journals across the globe, including The New York Quarterly, The Chiron Review, and Catamaran Literary Reader. He is the author of numerous books of poetry, and a collection of short fiction. He is a Pushcart Prize nominee and was a recipient of the 2013 Kathy Acker Award. To Break the Heart of the Sun is his latest collection of poetry. He recently edited Cockymoon: Selected Poems of Jack Micheline, published by Zeitgeist Press in 2017.
