Event Description

San Francisco’s Literary Speakeasy at Martuni’s is crossing the Bay to bring you some of the area’s best authors and musicians. You’ll be guaranteed an intimate evening of intoxicating prose, poetry, and lyrics from Annah Anti-Palindrome, Alia Volz, Kay Nilsson, and a secret surprise performer you don’t want to miss!

Curator: James J. Siegel

James J. Siegel is the author of the poetry collection “How Ghosts Travel” from Spuyten Duyvil Press. He is also the curator of the successful monthly show “Literary Speakeasy” at Martuni’s Piano Bar in San Francisco.

Annah Anti-Palindrome

Annah Anti-Palindrome is a Lambda Literary Fellow and author of DNA Hymn. Annah's poems are performed through live, musical soundscapes made w/ a loop pedal, kitchen utensils, gas-masks, blood pressure cuffs, her body, and more! 

Alia Volz

Alia Volz’s work can be found in The Best American Essays 2017, The New York Times, New England Review, and several other publications. SF Weekly named her among the “Best Writers without a Book in San Francisco.” 

Kay Nilsson

Kay Nilsson is a poet performer. He has featured at several events including Queer Rebels Performance Festival, KQED’s Literary Hour with LitCrawl, and ¿Donde Esta Mi Gente? Latino Spoken Word and Poetry Festival.
