Event Description
Young people representing Youth Radio's journalism and artistic development programs will be doing live readings of their work, including news, opinion and creative writing pieces. Youth participants will select meaningful pieces they've created about a variety of issues such as; community violence, school disparities, relationships, family, social justice and police brutality.

Youth Radio Newsroom
Beginning with an overview of journalism in its many forms, students develop their voices by producing commentaries, reviews and newscasts for a live weekly radio show before having the opportunity to report a feature stories.
Youth Radio's Remix Your Life Program
Remix Your Life is Youth Radio's incentive based artistic development program. Young people are encouraged to engage in a variety of creative expression opportunities including DJ class, writing workshops and performance opportunities.
Youth Radio's Media Education Training Program
All Youth Radio students begin by surveying Journalism, Music, and Multimedia. Upon graduating, students spend three months specializing in one of these disciplines, before moving on to paid internships.
